Author Katie Lee and fashion expert Fern Mallis will join the January cast of Love, Loss and What I Wore. The duo will chat about dating and fashion along with previously announced cast members Lillias White (The Life), Veanne Cox (Company) and Nancy Dussault (Bajour). The new cast will begin performances at off-Broadway's Westside Theatre on January 4, 2012 and remain with the production through January 29.
Lee is the author of the best-selling cookbook series The Comfort Table and the novel Groundswell. She is a food and lifestyle contributor for the CBS Early Show. Mallis has appeared on TV's Project Runway, America's Next Top Model and The Fashion Show, and is credited as the creator of New York Fashion Week. Both Lee and Mallis are making their off-Broadway debut.
Mallis will take a leave of absence from the show from January 4 through 13, with show alum Eve Plumb (The Brady Bunch, Miss Abigail's Guide to Dating, Mating and Marriage) filling in during her absence.
Love, Loss and What I Wore is based on the best-selling Ilene Beckerman book of the same name. Directed by Karen Carpenter, the play opened off-Broadway in October 2009, featuring a rotating celebrity cast. Love, Loss and What I Wore begins its first national tour on January 3, starring Daisy Eagan, Sonia Manzano, Loretta Swit, Myra Lucretia Taylor and Emily Dorsch.
